Methodology: Ports and chokepoint transits are IMF PortWatch estimates from satellite AIS. Chokepoint trade-share figures are from cited maritime authorities. Shipping lanes are modeled: the largest country-to-country flows (BACI) are routed via each country's busiest export port and bent through known chokepoints. Lanes are illustrative, not actual vessel tracks.
