Terms of service.
Written to be read. Eleven clauses, no boilerplate, effective 2026-08-03. TradeWeave is operated by Md Deluair Hossen; questions and every request these terms route anywhere go to the contact page.
1. The free platform
Everything public on TradeWeave today stays public: data pages, explorers, rankings, research, the API and the SQL console. Free use is subject only to fair use of the infrastructure and to the upstream licences of the underlying datasets, each named on the page that uses it. Nothing in these terms narrows the free platform.
2. The Pro subscription
TradeWeave Pro is $1,500 per year, billed annually. There is no monthly option. One subscription is a licence for one firm and covers up to 5 named users inside that firm; the first account is the one that subscribes, and the remaining seats are activated on request via contact at no extra charge. Pro is currently sold to US billing addresses only.
3. What your firm may do with the output
This is the clause the subscription exists for. Your firm may reproduce Pro worksheets, tables, charts and CSV exports inside its own deliverables: client memos, board papers, filings support, internal decks, on your own letterhead, without asking. The one condition is attribution where the material appears, in this form or equivalent:
Source: TradeWeave Pro (tradeweave.org), vintages as stated on the export.
Every CSV opens with a provenance block naming its sources, vintages and retrieval dates, so the attribution is checkable by whoever receives your document. What the licence does not cover: republishing or reselling the datasets themselves or any substantial extraction of them, offering Pro output as a data product, or removing the provenance block from a file you pass on.
4. Refunds
30 days, full refund, no questions, first subscription year. Ask via contact or through the Stripe billing portal when self-serve billing is on. Past 30 days, a broken paid surface that stays broken after being reported is grounds for a pro-rata refund; disagreement about an analytical judgment is not.
5. Cancellation
Cancelling stops the next renewal. The year already paid for runs to its end date with full access, and everything exported during the subscription stays licensed under clause 3 forever. Renewal is never silent-by-surprise: the price at renewal is the price stated on the Pro pageat that time, and a price change is announced there before it applies to anyone's renewal.
6. Accounts
Accounts are email and password. Reset is self-serve at forgot password when reset email is configured, and manual via contact always. A paid subscription is never lost to a forgotten password. Sharing one login outside the licensed firm is the one thing that gets an account closed without a refund.
7. What the data is
Every number on the platform traces to a named primary source with a stated vintage: CEPII BACI, WITS/TRAINS, WTO tariff schedules, UN Comtrade, USITC, national statistical offices, and the others named where they are used. Processing (joins, aggregations, indices) is TradeWeave's and is described on the page or in the CSV header. Sources revise, vintages age, and classification systems disagree with each other; the pages say so where it bites instead of pretending otherwise.
8. What the data is not
Nothing on TradeWeave, free or Pro, is legal advice, customs advice, a tariff classification ruling, an origin determination, investment advice, or a substitute for a licensed professional reading your actual documents. Worksheets state schedule rates and computed statistics; whether a shipment, product or strategy qualifies for anything is a determination the platform does not and cannot make.
9. Liability
The service is provided as described, with faults disclosed where known. To the extent the law allows, total liability for any claim arising from the service is capped at the subscription fees your firm paid in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
10. Privacy
The platform stores what an account needs: email, name if given, a password hash, session records, and for subscribers the Stripe customer reference. Card details never touch TradeWeave; Stripe holds them. No analytics identity is attached to accounts, and account data is never sold or shared beyond what payment processing requires.
11. Changes
These terms can change; the effective date at the top moves when they do, and a change that narrows clause 3 or clause 4 applies only from your next renewal, never retroactively to a year already paid for.
